Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) recognized that it’s greatest assets are staff and volunteers working together towards achievement of it’s mission and goals. In order to create a climate of mutual respect and understanding, PSSO is committed to establishing and maintaining fair and equitable policies and standards that reflect it’s principles.

All staff, consultants and volunteers are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is professional and that demonstrates the courtesy and respect that is due to all members of our community.

Individuals are expected to hold all information related to clients, donors, volunteers, employees, strategic and organizational plans and other records or information retained by PSSO confidential. All information is the property of PSSO and will be disclosed only when authorized by the client, a member of Senior Management, or when the individual concerned is obligated legally or professionally to do so. Confidential information includes but is not limited to:

  • Client Information (clients being people living with Parkinson’s and/or their families)
  • Personal employee, volunteer or consultant information
  • Fundraising databases and donor information
  • Subscription database
  • Volunteer databases
  • Financial databases and spreadsheets
  • Strategic and/or organizational plans
  • Fundraising initiatives
  • Minutes of staff, committee or board meetings
  • Information provided by anyone associated with PSSo which is not available in the public domain

Information collected by PSSO (e.g. name, address, phone number, email, etc) is in order to welcome individuals, provide access to resources such as our Update Magazine, Monthly E-News and other ongoing communication and services. This information also helps us to facilitate information related to programs, support groups and new supports available.

All personal information is kept in confidence through security measures including password access, limited access to databases, restricted office access, alarm systems, etc.

We do not divulge information to other organizations or people looking to access our membership for the purposes of self or product promotion under any circumstances.
