Sandra Hong Public Education Coordinator Alzheimer Society Grey-Bruce Sandra Hong will discuss dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson’s disease dementia (PDD) that are characterized by an accumulation of Lewy bodies in brain cells. Collectively, they are known as Lewy body disease (LBD). What symptoms patients may experience because of their diagnosis, specifically related to troubles with thinking and processing information, and behavioural changes, such as visual hallucinations. Speakers:  Greta Mah (Pharmacist) and Dr. Joyce Lee (Geriatrician) People with Parkinson’s disease may experience sudden drop in blood pressure leading to symptoms of dizziness and even falls. Some may also notice their blood pressure becomes high while lying down for sleep at night. This presentation will explain the occurrence of neurogenic orthostatic hypotension and supine hypertension. It will cover all the drug and non-drug treatment strategies to manage this non-motor PD related symptom.
